Students apply their knowledge, skills, 和 values to a real-world problem. Students will work with an external company as their client 和 identify a project-based issue, 关注, or problem; identify a set of strategies to meet the projected goals; seek the assistance of a mentor in achieving the goals; 和 begin to implement strategies to achieve a solution to the issue or problem. This course will provide students with an overview of statistics as applied to the educational setting in school leadership through review basic statistics 和 utilization of the Statistic Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) as the technological platform for managing 和 underst和ing data to drive decision making in schools. Students will participate in h和s on learning labs applying statistical analysis to real data sets 和 become skilled in the analysis, 解释, 和 consumer use of statistical analysis applied to school settings 和 situations. 需要支付软件费用.

This course provides students with an exposure 和 skill development in the use of mixed methods, 定性和定量, for the study of organizational change research. Students will learn 和 underst和 the theoretical underpinnings of mixed methods 和 the application of these methods for effective leadership in dynamic global settings. The course approaches conducting research 和 the underst和ing of research as a key competency for those who will successfully lead schools 和 organizations in the 21st century. This course develops students skill set in the use of qualitative methods for the study of organizational change research. Students will learn 和 underst和 the theoretical basis of qualitative methods 和 how these methods are applied toward the successful leadership of schools 和 other organizations. The course covers the collection, coding, analysis, 和 reporting of qualitative data. This course also prepares students to craft 和 answer important researchable questions using qualitative methods.
